Third Annual VOZ and JwJ Solidarity Salsa Party

Posted by Romeo on 15th September 2008

Saturday, September 20th from 8pm to midnight, at the SEIU 503 Dance Hall, 6401 SE Foster Rd

For the past two years VOZ the Workers Rights Organizing Project and Jobs with Justice have brought together members and supporters of our organizations for dancing, fun and fundraising.  This year we have even more reason to celebrate: VOZ recently opened Portland’s first day labor center on June 16th 2008. With this historic opening, Portland will join the ranks of other US cities that have successfully used day labor centers as alternatives to street corner hiring. The center will give Portland’s day laborers a safe and secure place to seek decent employment, and help in the fight to raise standards for all workers.

This years salsa party will be fun for everyone, and will include dance lessons, food and a silent auction.  We would love to see you as we celebrate this historic event! Even if you can’t attend, please consider buying a ticket for someone who can’t afford one.

To purchase tickets please call 503-233-6787
